Award Season Recap

The curtain has come down on the 2012 award season so I thought I'd do a photo recap of some of my favorite looks from the Golden Globes to the prestigous Oscars.  As usual there was no shortage of color and sparkle but it was also nice to see more blush and white gowns than in years past.  Now get ready for a photo heavy post ;)

It's been awhile since my last outfit post and as I don't have my camera for another week I decided to put an outfit together from the web.  Feeling a little bored from my usual work attire I've put together a simple casual outfit that I wish I could be wearing right now.  Unfortunately this is totally inappropriate for teaching so I will have to wait till the weekend!  Only a couple more days :)

Marchesa was the show I looking forward to the most as I LOVE their beautifully crafted gowns. And while I wish I could have been there in person the pictures did not disappoint.  As usual the looks were exquisite, so detailed and interesting that it's hard not to take a second look at them.

  

Happy Valentine's Day

I don't really celebrate Valentine's day but it doesn't stop me from making some yummy treats! This is what I whipped up this morning, recipe here.

And for dessert I'll be enjoying this delicious yet simple strawberry and chocolate mousse.

For the strawberry mousse I used this recipe and for the chocolate mousse I followed this one (but used dark chocolate).

Brand Crush: Joe Fresh

Ever since its launch in 2006 I have been in LOVE with Joe Fresh.  This CANADIAN line is stylish and so affordable that it has become one of my go to brands.  And while some still think it's odd to have a clothing line designed for a grocery store (Loblaws), you have to remember the guy behind it is none other than Joe Mimran, who is also the co-founder Club Monaco (another one of my favorites!).  Joe Fresh is also based on Mimran's clean asethetic, making it easy to mix and match pieces, but the line is also on trend with lots of patterns and colors for each season.  Check out the bright colors of the items below (most are available in even more colors), it's right on trend for spring 2012!

[Update] Get it before it's too late...

Waiting for things to go on sale can back fire when items are sold out in your size.  And in my case I waited to too long for Zara's winter sale.  Although prices are shown online there is no Zara e-store in Canada, so usually these items cannot be found in store.  And if your like me you don't have time to be checking the only location in town for sales.  I know Zara is fairy inexpensive but I find that for the quality it's not usually worth full price (plus I just hate paying retail for anything!).

I have been on the lookout for an affordable leather jacket and at 89.99 this was a steal! I really loved the motorcyle style of this one.
