A shopaholic's dream come true

What would you buy if you won a $500 shopping spree?  Well that's what I'm asking myself right now :)  I was lucky enough to win a $500 giftcard from Cadillac Fairview which owns some of Canada's premier shopping malls (Toronto Eaton Centre, Rideau Centre and Pacific Centre to name a few).   My dad knows I'm a shopaholic so the first thing he said to me was, "Don't burn through it too quickly!".  So while it's tempting to use the giftcard towards an expensive designer item I typically wouldn't buy, I think I'll take my dad's advice and make sure I spend my giftcard wisely.  


You might be wondering if I've bought anythig with the gift card already? If so what was my first purchse? Well yes, I did make 1 purchase thus far....but not for myself :)  I bought my sister these lovely shoes for her birthday.  She has been longing for a pair of Sperry's for awhile and these were 50% so it was perfect timing.  

Other than the shoes I don't think I'll be spending the rest of the gift card for awhile.  I think I'll hold off until summer sales but who knows? hehe

Last weekend was a disappointement weatherwise but I still managed to take these pics before it rained.  I've suddenly built quite the dress shirt collection so I've been looking for new ways to wear them.  Right now I'm loving this combination with the checks peaking out at the collar and cuffs.   I'm looking forward to a {hopefully} more sunny weekend :)

Oh how I wish spring would come back!  The above photos were taken last week when I decided to take a cue from the boys and pair my favorite boyfriend blazer with those cool brogues ;)  That was before winter decided to make its return (pic via my instagram, @amy_lovinglately).  Still can't believe it snowed in April!

Celebrate Earth Day

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far.  Just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow, April 22, is Earth Day and to celebrate many stores are offering some great deals that will make you and the planet smile :)

Starbucks is offering a free coffee or tea (brewed, hot or iced) for those who bring in a reusable mug or tumbler on Earth Day.  *Available at participating stores in the U.S. and Canada. More info here.

The Body Shop is offering the deals shown above both  online and in stores.  As far as I know this is in Canada only.  Click here for full details.

Kiehl's has the above Recycle and be Rewarded promotion in Canada.  There is also a limited edition Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque with proceeds benefiting the Evergreen project.

In the U.S. the Recycle and be Rewarded promotion is also available however it works differently.  Each empty jar = 1 stamp and the more stamps you collect the better the reward.  Also unlike in Canada, there are several limited edition Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masques with labels designed by various celebrities.  The net proceeds of these sales will benefit Recycle Across America.   Click here to see the different lables and for more detail about the Recycle and be Rewarded promotion.
