Are you a couponer?

I have always been the type of person who won't buy things, from groceries to clothing, unless they're on sale (it's probably the Asian in me!).  I'm always on the lookout for a great deal and that includes using coupons!  Maybe it's due to Extreme Couponing on TLC, but I've noticed that I've been couponing a lot more lately.  While in Canada extreme couponing is not always possible, you can still save a lot of money with coupons if you put in the time and effort.  Deanna does a great job here of explaining the differences of extreme couponing in Canada.

Using coupons from inserts is still a common practice, but more coupons and deals are becoming available online especially with companies having Facebook pages or Twitter.  So while I'm not an expert or extreme couponer, I thought I'd share with my Canadian friends some of the sites that have helped me save (last section includes some international sites for you non Canadians ;)

Deal/Coupon Alerts
Smart Canucks
Red Flag Deals
Extreme Couponing Canada
Bargain Moose

These sites are great for those who don't want to subscribe to e-mail offers from stores.  Those deals, including Facebook offers and online coupon codes are shared on the sites.  However if you don't want to miss a deal at your favorite store you should subscribe to its e-mail newsletter.  By the time it is posted on these sites your favorite item may be sold out :(

websaver.ca
save.ca
smartsource
P&G Everyday Solutions

Others (must become a member, some are by invitation only)
Beyond the rack- designer flash sales, my invitation link
Ebates- cash back and coupons for select online stores

Both are also available in the U.S.

Groupon-international, my referral link
Swarmjam-Canada only
Wagjag-Canada only, my referral link

All three of the above sites offer what I like to call "prepaid coupons with an expiry date".  The catch is that each deal or coupon is offered for a limited time and require a certain number of people to buy until the deal is activated.  Check out the sites for more detailed information.

For more online shopping tips and links check out this article by Anna and Kristina.  It's especially useful for first time online shoppers.

These are just a few of the money saving sites out there.  Some of the best coupons I've found are buy one get one free movie tickets, $5 off ground beef, half price all you can eat sushi and of course freebie coupons!

If you have any recommendations or tips/tricks feel free to share!

(The first blossoms of the year!)

While it still doesn't feel like spring yet (with the wind it's been hovering around 0 degrees celcius), at least the sun's out!  I hope you all had a relaxing Easter weekend.  I didn't do much, spent time with my family and did a little shopping.  This is what I wore to church on Sunday.  I picked up this blouse during a quick shopping trip with my mom and while I normally I don't find anything at SmartSet the crochet detail on the shoulders of this blouse caught my eye.  The sleeves are a little long but that's nothing new to me.  SmartSet has a great promotion going on, spend $50 or more and receive a $25 giftcard towards your next purchase of $50 or more, and there's an extra 25% off a pink tag sale items, so go check it out!

Currently Craving Neutrals?

While this spring is all about color, I'm suddenly craving the lovely neutral toned items shown below.  Perhaps this craving is a result of an overload of color in the stores or maybe it's due to my love of classic pieces.  Whatever the reason I just can't help but be drawn to neutrals at the moment! Luckily as they are all neutral, every piece will go nicely with the neon and pastel trend.

I'm especially in love with all the blazers and I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for a light colored one like those below.  If you have any suggestions feel free to share, I love reading all your comments :)

Bare Legs

I'm loving this warm weather!  With the temperature staying around 25 degrees Celsius I was able to pull out one of my minis from the back of the closet for this quick photo before the sun set.  I hope the weather stays like this for a while :)

Toronto Fashion Week Part 2: Joe Fresh

For those who have been following this blog you know that I LOVE Joe Fresh (read more about the brand in this post).  So of course I was super excited to check out their Fall 2012 collection online.  And I wasn't disappointed, the collection was very retro fun and I saw lots of pieces that I couldn't wait to buy.  It almost made me wish that there was still snow on the ground...almost. The second pic is my favorite look, normally I don't wear yellow but I really like the shape of the skirt so I might give it a try.  *All images via World Mastercard Fashion Week
